CBR Book#20: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

At last I have completed the last book of the Harry Potter series. I was both looking forward to and dreading reading The Deathly Hallows because I would finally know how it all ends and because it would all end. I had heard that more people died in the end of this one and I spent most of the book afraid of when someone was going to die. This is not to say that I did not enjoy the book, because I did, but it was an intense experience.

CBR Book#19: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

People seemed to be severely underwhelmed by the movie adaptation of Half-Blood Prince. As I hadn't read the book, I didn't know what I was missing when I finally watched the movie a week ago. Let me tell you, I was confused watching Half-Blood Prince. I didn't understand what the hell was going on, even though I had seen all of the previous movies and had just begun reading the book. Having finished the book, I must say I have a clearer understanding of the movie and its many flaws.

CBR Book#18: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

I enjoyed this installment of the Harry Potter saga more than I expected I would. Order of the Phoenix begins with Harry staying with the Dursleys and listening for any suspicious deaths on the news that would indicate Lord Voldemort is returning to his former power. Before Harry can hear anything about Voldemort, he is confronted with two dementors and must act quickly to save himself and his hated cousin, Dudley. Upon using his patronus to defeat the creatures, Harry finds he has been watched by people with ties to the magical world the whole time he has been on Privet Drive.

CBR Book#17: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling

Why did I not read these books sooner? Just a warning for all y'all - I will be finishing out the HP series before I move on to any other books. They are filled with so much more detail and explanation than the movies, which I also quite enjoy, that I want to be sure to finish them all before Deathly Hallows pops up in the theater.

CBR Book #13: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

Well, well, well. Harry Potter just got a bit more growed up in his third year. The book starts off like all of the other, with Harry dealing with his puppy-kicking assholes the Dursleys. Uncle Vernon's sister comes to visit and starts talking shit about Harry's parents, causing Harry to become upset and inflate her already large ass into a Macy's Parade balloon. Fearing he will be expelled from Hogwarts, Harry runs off and is picked up by the wizard public transportation Knight Bus. Here he learns about the things that Sirius Black, the escaped prisoner of Azkaban, was supposed to have done. This included murdering thirteen people in...DUN DUN DUN...COLD BLOOD.

CBR #12: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter has spent the summer with his horrifically abusive and demented aunt, uncle and cousin, the Dursleys. The only thing keeping the Dursley family from keeping Harry locked in a room all summer is their fear of his magical abilities. One evening, while Harry is supposed to be hiding in his room from the Dursley's company, Harry is visited by a house-elf named Dobby. Dobby begs Harry not to return to Hogwarts because something bad will happen to the young wizard. In trying to convince Harry not to go back to the wizarding school, Dobby exposes the truth about Harry being unable to use magic while away from Hogwarts, resulting his imprisonment in the Dursley home.

CBR Book #10: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

I finally did it. I walked into the library and picked up the first Harry Potter book to read. I also picked up two other books. After becoming highly annoyed with Sleepers by Lorenzo Carcaterra, I began reading J.K. Rowling's first adventure with the young wizard with the bad-ass lightning-shaped scar.
